Iceland Foods Awards Gala — Chester Cathedral
Client: Iceland Foods Event type: Corporate awards gala Venue: Chester Cathedral Scope: Floral design, event styling, installation and de-rig The brief Iceland Foods approached RG Events to deliver the floral and styling installation for their annual awards gala, hosted in the nave of Chester Cathedral. The client wanted an arrival experience and room scheme that matched the scale of the building — a heritage venue with a 1,000-year history and strict conservation requirements — while creating a strong visual backdrop for photography, stage presentations and the evening's awards. The challenge was twofold: produce an installation with genuine impact in one of the largest interior spaces in the North West, and deliver it within a single-day build window inside a working cathedral. Planning Work started several weeks out with a site visit to survey access routes, floor protection requirements, power availability and the load-in restrictions specific to a Grade I listed building. From that visit we produced a full method statement and risk assessment covering the flower wall build, working at height, vehicle movements on the precinct and fire-safety requirements for the floral materials. The scheme was signed off in three elements: An 18-metre freestanding flower wall — one of the largest mobile floral installations we've built — designed in modular sections so it could be transported, assembled and levelled on the cathedral's uneven stone floor without any fixings to the fabric of the building. A floral entrance arch at the guest arrival point, styled to carry the same palette through from the exterior into the nave. 20 dining table centrepieces, scaled to sit above eye-line so sightlines to the stage stayed clear across the room. Every stem quantity, structural component and vehicle load was scheduled in advance so the on-site team had no decisions left to make on the day. Delivery The build ran from 10:30am to 5pm with a dedicated crew of three, working to a timed installation plan agreed with the cathedral's events team. The flower wall went up first as the critical-path item, followed by the arch, with the centrepieces dressed last once the venue's own table layout was in place. The installation was completed, inspected and handed over ahead of the client's guest arrival, with the de-rig scheduled and completed to the venue's required turnaround the following morning. Outcome The 18-metre wall became the defining image of the evening — the backdrop for award presentations, guest photography and the client's post-event coverage. The full scheme was delivered on time, on budget and with zero impact to the cathedral fabric, meeting every condition set by the venue. [Add: date, guest numbers, client quote if available] What this project demonstrates Large-format floral installation in a heritage venue, single-day build management under conservation constraints, and full compliance documentation as standard — the planning approach we bring to every corporate event across Cheshire, Wirral and Liverpool.
GBG Group Christmas Party — Chester Racecourse
Client: GBG Group Event type: Corporate Christmas party Venue: Chester Racecourse Date: December 2025 Scope: Concept and theming, venue styling, bespoke build, entertainment booking and management, installation and de-rig The brief GBG Group wanted their annual Christmas celebration to do more than fill a function room with festive décor. The brief was a themed event that would get a large corporate team engaging with each other — something with a strong visual identity, plenty of photo moments, and entertainment that carried the evening from arrival through to the last dance. RG Events proposed a nostalgia concept: a scheme built around the colours, sweets and playfulness of childhood Christmases, applied consistently across every element of the room, and paired with a live entertainment programme managed end-to-end. Planning The theme was developed as a single coherent design rather than a collection of individual hires, so the colour palette, table scheme, chair dressing, feature installation and photobooth all worked from the same visual language. We agreed the scheme with the client, then handled supplier coordination, entertainment contracts and the build schedule so GBG had one point of contact for the whole event. The delivered scheme comprised: Bespoke nostalgia centrepieces on every table — bright, playful designs with retro detailing, scaled to sit comfortably alongside the racecourse's own dining set-up. A custom-built candy cart stocked with classic retro sweets, positioned as a self-serve focal point that kept guests circulating and mixing throughout the evening. Colour-blocked chair styling across the room, giving a rainbow effect that carried the theme from the door to the far wall. Illuminated GBG letters with a full balloon installation — the branded centrepiece of the room and the primary photo backdrop, giving the client's identity a presence in every guest photograph. A nostalgia-themed photobooth with props, providing guests with printed keepsakes and generating shareable content for the client on the night. A live band followed by a DJ, both booked, scheduled and managed by RG Events, with the handover timed to keep the energy moving without a lull. Delivery Our team installed the full scheme at Chester Racecourse within the venue's set-up window, working around the racecourse's own catering and room turnaround to have everything in place ahead of guest arrival. Entertainment sound checks, the candy cart set-up and the photobooth were all live before doors, and the room was de-rigged and cleared to the venue's requirements after the event. Outcome A single, consistent theme delivered across styling, interactive features and entertainment — with GBG's branding at the heart of the room. The candy cart and photobooth kept guests moving and mixing early on, and the band-to-DJ programme kept the floor full to close. For the client, the whole evening was managed under one contract and one point of contact. What this project demonstrates Full-service corporate event production: concept development, themed styling, bespoke build, branded installation, and entertainment booking managed alongside the décor — the kind of delivery we bring to corporate celebrations across Cheshire, Wirral and Liverpool.

Holiferm UK Warehouse Launch — Birkenhead Docks
Client: Holiferm UK Event type: Corporate launch and official opening Venue: Holiferm's new warehouse facility, Birkenhead Docks Scope: Full event production — venue conversion, bar and catering, drinks reception, staging, AV, sound and lighting, installation and de-rig The brief Holiferm UK were opening a new warehouse facility at Birkenhead Docks and wanted to mark it with a formal launch event: invited guests, a drinks reception, and a programme of speeches including an address from the Mayor. The brief to RG Events was to take an operational warehouse — a bare industrial shell with no hospitality infrastructure — and turn it into a venue fit for civic guests, press and stakeholders, then hand it back ready for use. The challenge was that nothing a launch event needs was already there: no floor finish, no power distribution for AV, no bar, no kitchen, no stage and no sound. Every element had to be brought in, built and removed on a schedule that didn't disrupt a working site. Planning We began with a site survey of the warehouse to map the floor area, access points for vehicle load-in, available power, and the sightlines from the guest area to where the speeches would take place. From that we produced a floor plan that separated the event into three zones — arrival and drinks reception, the main guest area, and the stage — and a build schedule that sequenced the trades so nothing was installed on top of something unfinished. The delivered scheme comprised: Temporary carpet laid across the full event footprint, converting the warehouse floor into a clean, finished surface that changed the feel of the space immediately and gave guests a proper venue underfoot. 8ft trees positioned through the space to soften the industrial scale, define the zones and bring height and greenery to a room with none of its own. A full bar with staff, glassware and stock, plus a drinks reception on arrival so guests were welcomed with a drink in hand rather than walking into an empty floor. Catering, served and staffed by our team, scheduled around the speech programme so service didn't cut across the formal part of the event. A stage with lectern, positioned for clear sightlines from every part of the guest area, for the Mayor's address and the client's own speakers. Sound system and microphones for the speeches, with a large TV screen for the client's presentation content and branding. Event lighting to lift the space from working-warehouse lighting into a warm, presentable environment and to light the stage for photography. Delivery Our team completed the full install in the agreed build window, working from the floor up: carpet first, then power and AV distribution, then stage, screen, lighting and sound, and finally the bar, catering stations and trees. Every system was tested and the stage sound-checked ahead of guest arrival. Bar and catering staff ran the reception and service throughout, and the entire installation was de-rigged and the warehouse returned to the client's operational condition afterwards. Outcome A working warehouse converted into a launch venue and returned again on the same schedule, with the Mayor's address and the client's speeches delivered on a proper stage, with clear sound and screen support, in front of a fully hosted room. The client was able to invite civic guests to an industrial site with confidence that it would present as a finished venue. What this project demonstrates Turnkey event production in non-venue spaces: RG Events can take an empty industrial unit and supply everything — floor, furniture, bar, catering, stage, AV, sound and lighting — under one contract, for corporate launches and openings across Wirral, Liverpool and Cheshire. Three things to check. First, I've said the Mayor gave "an address" without specifying which mayoralty — if it was the Mayor of Wirral, say so, as that's a strong civic credential for the page. Second, if you can give me the guest count, date and build window, this one benefits more than the other two from the numbers, because the whole story is logistics. Third, if there are photos of the bare warehouse before the carpet went down, a before-and-after pairing would make this the most persuasive case study of the three.
